There is NO official information whatsoever regarding KOTOR III. If it's not an official press release from LucasArts or the game developer, it's just speculation, hoax, rumor, or flat-out bullsnot. If anyone tells you they have inside information about KOTOR III, don't believe it unless that person is George Lucas or an official representative from the game developer.
Also, SuperShadow does NOT know George Lucas personally, does NOT work for Lucasfilm or Industrial Light and Magic, and has never dated Kiera Knightly.
And there's no Easter Bunny, either.
From Bioware forums:
Back in March of this year, Obsidian posted a snippet of an interview with CEO Feargus Urquhart regarding KOTOR III. So far it's the only bit of OFFICIAL information I've been able to find. And it doesn't say anything new.

Q: Is there any proof that KotOR3 is even being worked on?A: No. The only proof we have that it was even considered was an article a while back saying that LucasArts had laid off the predevelopment team.
Q: I heard about/saw a link to this statement from BioWare...A: It's a hoax.
Q: What about Obsidian saying they'd like to do KotOR 3?
A: Yes, that's correct, but they only said that they would like to work on it. Not that they were working on it, or had even been asked to. Just that they'd like to.
Q: IGN are predicting a KotOR3 release for late 2006/early 2007.
A: Yes: still no official word, though.
Q: Supershadow claims KotOR III will be made!
A: It's Supershadow, therefore it's fake.
Q: So I guess this means you're sick of K3 threads?
A: Yep. And since it's such a popular question, it makes sense to sticky it and its common variants.
Q: What will you accept as proof?
A: A press release that is either on LucasArts' website or a game developer's website. Not gaming news sites, or any other site. And provide a link.

TotalVideoGames.com is offering up a small morsel from a recent interview they did with Obsidian Entertainment's Feargus Urquhart about the possibility of Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic III. This pretty much clears up the speculation that the game is currently under development:
"We have been talking with LucasArts to do KOTOR3 since August 2004 and we hoped to do it since KOTOR2 was done. LucasArts is thinking what they want to do with it and we would happily make KOTOR3, if that's what LucasArts wants to do."
Looks like we'll have to wait this one out.
