Hello and Welcome!
This is the place that will hopefully fill your roleplaying needs. Please read this post carefully before you start posting here.
ONLY ADMINISTRATORS may open new threads in the active RP categories and OOC area. Moderators please do not start new threads without clearing the RP with either one of your admins first.
Forum rules and regulations apply to ALL areas of this board.
BASIC ROLEPLAYING ETIQUETTE:
The Game Masters are responsible for enforcing the rules in their own RPs, but I've found keeping the following basic etiquette in mind help make a better roleplaying environment:
Your GM is in charge.
These forums are moderated, but your GM has the right to add or remove players during the course of the RP. This is something they have worked hard on, and it's important to them that the story does not degenerate into something stupid or pointless.
The staff will always back the GM, provided he or she is not behaving inappropriately or unfairly. If you have a problem with that, don't sign on for the RP.
That being said, have fun!

BASIC ROLEPLAYING ETIQUETTE:
The Game Masters are responsible for enforcing the rules in their own RPs, but I've found keeping the following basic etiquette in mind help make a better roleplaying environment:
- DO NOT SPAM the RPG area. If you want a part in an RP, go to casting calls and see what's available, or if the RPG is already started, go to the OOC thread for the game you want and ask the GM there.
- Work as a team. Check the OOC thread for the RP you are participating in regularly. People get lost and fall behind all the time - we're human, it happens. But instead of just posting something without being sure of where you are supposed to be, take the time to read up and get yourself up to date. Ask your GM or fellow players for help if you need it.
- Stick to the plotline. Don't make changes to the story without consulting the GM first. In other words, don't hijack the RP.
- Work it out. Settle disputes like adults and make an effort to get along with your fellow RP-ers. The GM reserves the right to "hire" or fire" players, although I would hope that that doesn't happen unless the RP itself is suffering from problems created by another player.
- Participate! Don't sit around waiting to be told what to do... take the initiative and give your characters life. People who take on two or three characters and then don't do anything with them are only serving to hinder the RP. It's the GM's job to direct and guide you, not to do everything for you.
- One-liners are a pet peeve of mine. That's really up to the GM's to enforce, but IMO, it's just not fair for one player to spend half an hour writing up a beautifully detailed post, and the next to respond with a single sentence.
Also, hundreds of one-liner posts coming in at the same time will bog down the site and annoy the server. We have to be nice to the server, because it's not getting paid for this. - Botting another player's character should not be done without their permission, unless the player has pulled a disappearing act, or is determined by the GM to be hindering the progress of the RP. I think it's okay to describe say the facial expressions or minor actions of another character when interacting with them. But be nice... don't make them pick their nose in public or anything equally gross or embarassing.
- NEVER EVER UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES should you kill, disfigure or permanently maim someone else's character without speaking to both them and the GM first. Do not hack off limbs in a lightsaber battle, or put an arrow through an eye just because you think it would be cool. It's rude and shows a lack of respect for other players.
- Original characters belong to their creator. You MAY NOT use someone else's OC without their express permission. There's a word for passing off someone else's work as your own - plagiarism.
- Explicit sexual content and/or obscene language is NOT permitted. Period.
- Please check the rules for every section of the RP area. It may seem complicated, but it's really very straightfrorward. Please don't be afraid to ask if you don't understand something.
