Which setting of Game display do you like? First Person Shooter or Role Playing Games.
If you don't know the shooter variants, here are a few examples:
First Person: Halo 1-3, Star Wars Republic Commando Brothers in Arms 1-3 and Doom 1-3.
(I know there are two Game series there that games aren't released yet, but it is a fact that they will release.)
Role Playing Games: KOTOR I & KOTOR II, Final Fantasy series and Oblivion - Elder Scrolls(also the other Elder Scrolls games)
In my opinion FPS all the way. Why? Because it is much easier to understand and sniping becomes easier.

Actually it's the Elder Scrolls series, but I'm just nerdy...
d**n this is a hard one! But I was born with FPS's so I'm siding with them.

That's kinda me too. The only RPGs I own are KotOR and Morrowind which is the predecessor to Oblivion.

Yeah I played Marrowind but I got bored after a while. World of Warcraft is alright too.

It get's boring sometimes but if you go through the main quest it's pretty cool! They made to expansions for Xbox and PC. Bloodmoon and Tribunal. Bloodmoon caught my attention due to the werewolf factor. I thought I could just run around and kill people, but nope. If they know what you really are you can't go anywhere without being attacked. But enough of my blabbing. I grew up with FPS (Literaly, my dad used to play them. Thus my addiction... ). So I side with them.

That's why Halo is for me, freedom to fight and do what you want in battle, except for killing Sgt. Johnson.

Don't worry I'm right there with you Ambika, I prefer RPG's to FPS! I guess it's because with RPG, there's always something else to the game, I mean usually don't FPS involve shooting things and that (all my FPS games are)
So I guess with the RPG games, I just enjoy the other aspects to it, not just the fighting seqences, but also the stategy and the banter involved!

Well yeah, that's true. One thing that drove KotOR and all other RPG's so well is the storyline. Granted, FPS's have storylines too, some of them are brilliant! But RPG's can "deliver" emotions better than other games, that is, if you get my rant... But what can I say, I'm horribly biased. ;D

I think I'd prefer RPG. FPS's are good, but RPG's are better, that's just how I feel.

Your spot on there! In regards to the emotional sides of things! I mean that's how we learn about characters, by talking to them and getting to know them.
I do agree though that there are FPS's out there that have some great storylines, but most run on the basic struture shoot first and then ask questions later (If there are questions to ask at all) Lol!
Biased as you are I see your point in liking the FPS's, they are good games and it's also puts you in the actual scenario as it's what you see on your screen (especially if you have a 50inch plasma screen, lol)
I'm still a RPG girl tho all the way! Hehe! ;D But I like both!

That's not bad, I mean I rather do that then deal with Johnson's super marines.
FPS games are like that becaus ethey are manual controlled games, you control your characters movement in battle and weapons direction. By this I mean you don't have options to select item, weapons or magic items, because it is manually set.
By this I mean that you cannot switch through players during battleplay, you can throw grenades and fire weapons more quickly in battle and you can cause freeze frames to allow you to select items. In my opinion it is a lot harder, kepping you more interested and focused on what the gameplay is all about. Trust me I have been around games for a long time, and I know different types of game structure some are good and some needed to be worked on a bit more.
Now as a conclusion I still stick by my words, FPS for me owns RPG, but I have to admit RPG games have way better graphic displays then FPS I don't know for certain but it may be because it uses less space.
