I find him peevish and a person who always complains about his past.

His wife died in his arms. I'd say he has license to complain.

Agreed!!!!! If something very eventful happened in your life, of course you're not going to forget it! And for some part depending what kind of a person you are, you either 1. Like Carth, let it run your life, or 2. Let it go! Though I think number 2 would be hard for most ppl! So basically what he's doing is normal, it's just we're not accustomed to the level at which he portrays (trust issues, Angst, etc)

I guess to me, he paid a pretty high price for trusting his friend and mentor. He lost his entire immediate family, his home planet, I'm sure many friends and relatives, not to mention his mentor. I'm sure I probably left some things out.
I think the angst/trust factor keeps him from being a Mary sue, or carthy sue or whatever you want to call it! In other words he's human with flaws like me. I can identify!

Carth's personality was interesting, I mean I have never in my life met someone like Carth - Trust issues, Angst etc It was different!! And I think that's what I liked about the whole concept! I don't know if others feel that way, but hey, maybe I'm alone on this! And that orange jacket, well least he couldn't get lost in the distance anywhere, cause I was always able to see him! lol I remember once I changed to a first person view and looked at him, I was looking up cause he's pretty tall and the amount of angst on his face was so funny, he's eyes were darting around everywhere! And it worked cause it got us hooked! lol

I think he was a character with an interesting back story and...THE ANGST!!! Although Jade makes a good point his wife did die on him. That would've been a more interesting character than Bastila's mother.

That would've been a more interesting character than Bastila's mother. If I was drinking something, that last part would have made it come out my nose... But yes, I am not one to fan-i-nize all over the carpet(usually...), too many blood stains from the constant rolling... But Carth makes me weaken. I feel sorry for him, daggum empathy chip... Overall, I like him. But I pretend not to.

Pretending is fun. But then my mom got some people to interview me to make sure I wasn't bi-polar or something back when I was about 9, and they told me to stop pretending I think.
My imaginary friends were too many in number...they would eventually form into a massive, imaginary army at my twisted imagination's whim.
But I'm getting off topic.
Anyways, I pretend not to like him because I'm too tough. *flexes the nonexistant muscle* And it's kinda hard for a girl like me to admit that I like someone's Halloween costume without my pride interfering, let alone say that some makes me fan-i-nize...

Didn't he try to find her and Dustil, but he was too late because Telos blew up?

I've been searching through the wave files for the game and yeah some of the things Carth says about his past are basically the following: He actually got down to Telos with a taskforce and found his wife dying, there were no medics about so she couldn't be helped so he stayed with her and she died in his arms *sniffles and tears* Carth searched for Dustil but he'd been taken by the Sith and that was it, Carth had followed Reports of the bombardment of Telos but no reports on Dustil so he gave up thinking that maybe he died - *still sad*
